About us

Ask your fairy is an on location service providing make-up application, costume styling with accessories, followed by a photo shoot for your children. AYF specializes in events for children from 3 to 12 years old. The core service is to have fun pampering moments for children.
Costumes, make up, expertise, and a
professional photo shoot are included. The pressure is taken off of the parents, either at their home or nominated venue, so they and their guests can relax while AYF entertains your children. AYF offers parties of various themes so the children involved can explore and utilize their own creative and artistic talents. AYF also teaches arts and crafts that will be in parallel with the theme chosen for your party.

Formed in 2007, AYF has administrative offices in Kitsilano and serves Vancouver downtown, Vancouver West side, West Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Both ownwer Marion Landry and Gabriella Benito are artistically trained and experienced with children. With 15 years of experience as a make up artist and stylist in the film industry, Gabriella will make sure your kids are looking their best.

We offer different type of parties please refer to the list bellow. If you have an idea for idea for a party that AYF doesn’t currently provide, please make the suggestion and your wish may be granted!

Fairies party
All you need is faith and a little bit of fairy dust for a “fairy” good time!!! After you have received your new fairy name, it is dress up time! You will get to choose from fabulous fairy dresses, receive wings and magic wands. You will receive some sparkly make up to
complete the look! Once the transformation is complete, it’s time for your photo shoot. You will be captured on film and will keep everlasting memories of your fairy day. Fairytastic!

Princess party
For the little princess in you, here’s a sparkly party with a dash of pink. You get to choose from our selection of fabulous gowns, crowns, and jewelry to make your princess outfit the ultimate! You will also receive a royal make over, a fabulous up do, and will be captured on photo in your most royal moment and be ready for the grand ball!

Red carpet party
This is an Oscar night ambiance! Actors chair, red carpet, lots of glitter, and paparazzi will make you feel like a star! You get to choose from an array of costumes and accessories and create your very own red carpet look! You will receive star make up and get to walk on the red carpet while all your friends take lots of pictures! (disposable cameras provided).

Rock star party
Let’s rock! With cool pants, mini skirts, t- shirts, mesh fashion gloves, wigs,glasses, leather coats and hats to name a few you will be a top rocker before long! Use your creativity and go crazy! Make up and nail
polish will complete your rocker look and let the show begin! You can rock on the AYF mini stage complete with microphones and back up dancers! You can rock by lip syncing to your favorite song or go at it on your own! Lots of pictures and dancing await! Could be great fun for a sleep over!

Spa party
This is a must for the ultimate in pampering; great to start your sleep over or just to feel at your best! You and your friends are provided with a robe and a pair of flip flops to relax and let’s indulge in beauty! Your feet will be refreshed and soothed in the gentle foot spa, massaged, and moisturized with our professional product. You will also receive a soothing facial mask and beautiful nail art polish for your toes and hands. Sprintzer* drinks are served decorated with fruits and an umbrella and let’s chill! This party can also be offered outdoors on a sunny day!

Hula-Hula Hawaiian beach party
This is a great party for a warm summer day or to warm up your winter! You and your friends will get dressed up in bikini tops, Hawaiian skirts, and flip flops! You will drink Hawaiian punch, receive Hawiian make up and beautiful nail art and let’s hula dance!

Ballerina
You and your friend will be wearing a tutu, leotard and ballerina shoes to complete your day of being a prima ballerina! You will receive a light make up and up do and be able to rehearse to the sound of music. The photo shoot will capture the little ballerina in you and you will be able to dance the night away!


I want it all party
Can’t decide in advance what you want to be on your special day? No problem, AYF will bring a full variety of costumes: princess, fairy, ballerina, cowgirl, pirate, angel, magician, super hero, rock star, actress, and then you can decide! This is a really creative party where you will see and do it all. Sparkly make up that will match your outfit, and lots of glitter! Get ready for the photo shoot, and watch out for the transformation!

Tea party
There is nothing like some quality time with friends. You will enjoy a special afternoon chatting with friends during a sophisticated English tea time! Show up with your best attire and will accessorize it so you will be
glamorous enough for tea with the queen! Expect a fun day full of gossiping! Make up and nail polish are part of the fun!

The Party and how it works
With AYF the main goal is to make each event an unforgettable one; a party where everybody can have fun and have their moment of glory. The majority of children are really thrilled by the attention paid to them and are very comfortable in front of the camera once they have been dressed up in costumes and been styled with make up and accessories. However, some children can be intimated by the attention and tend to be shy. The AYF flexible approach is all about making sure the children feel comfortable without pressure and can just be happy and have a good time. The children do not need to get dressed up or styled with make up if they don’t wish. They are respected the way they are and are encouraged to shine on the inside and out.

The AYF theme parties are typically conducted in 2 hour sessions AYF personnel will arrive at the chosen venue 45 minutes prior to the event to set up and will bring all necessary equipment (see list below). The setup is versatile and doesn’t require that all activities take place in one room. However, the photo shoot normally fits best in the play room, living room, or dining room (provided the table and chairs can be moved). AYF personnel make every effort to avoid accidents by moving furniture and covering carpet floors.

Our equipment consists of:
-Make up station with director chair
- Collapsible clothing rack for costumes
-Accessory bags
-A 6’ X 6’ paper background for the photo shoot and lighting kit
-Collapsible craft table if requested.

Parties are available at home or at a nominated venue. Some parties can be offered outdoors but the photo shoot always needs to be indoors. AYF also offers late parties (7pm) which can then carry on for a sleep over.

A special gift will be given to the birthday girl or host. Clients can order extra goody bags for guests at a price range from $8-20. The goody bags will never include candy or any type of food because AYF doesn’t believe in making food choices for your children.

It is required to book your party well in advance to ensure your day and time is available. Upon booking your party, a deposit of $50 will be required with a 14-day cancellation period necessary to ensure a full refund.

Upon booking online or upon arrival at your location, you will be asked to sign a waiver.

The owners of AYF, one of which will always be in attendance at events, are both first aid trained and make safety a priority in looking after your children.

At all times the equipment is clean and only professional make up is used. The make up is applied tastefully and appropriately for the particular age group.

It takes about 30 minutes to clean after an AYF party.
